Whitfield Reaves is a licensed acupuncturist and doctor of oriental medicine. Reaves is regarded as a pioneer of sports acupuncture in the United States. Reaves is the author of The Acupuncture Handbook of Sports Injuries & Pain, one of the only texts on sports acupuncture available in the West. As Reeves expands his activities in various directions, he often offers collaborations for editors, writers, and even senior students.
